The 14th Arab Cable Manufacturers Conference.

Day One: 6/11/2018

The 14th Arabcab Conference was held In the Kingdom of Morroco between the period of the 6th and until the 8th of November, under the theme of “the role of financial institutions in the Cable Industry” the Conference opened on the night of the 6^th with a dinner that was hosted om LA Moroccan Restaurant in the host hotel, and guests enjoyed a networking and local music and cuisine.

Day Two: 7/11/2018

The second day of the Conference was hosted at La Mamounia Hotel in Marrakech, with the first speakers session opening by a word from Arabcab’s Secretary General, Mr. Hamid Al Zayani and in it he introduced the Confrence speakers and the conference agenda for this year.

This was followed by a speech from his excellency Minister Aziz Rabah, Minister of Mines, Energy and Sustainable development in the Kingdom of Morocco, who spoke about the resilience of the Arab World in the face adversity, and highlighted some of the key energy projects that morocco have been working on and the opportunities they represent to the Cable Industry.

The Guests then went for a coffee break and a networking session, After the break, the second speakers session started with a speech by Ms. Fatima Zahra, from the Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (MASEN) who spoke about the key projects that the Agency have been working on, as well as it’s very ambitious plans to increase reliance on sustainable energy methods, and plans to even expand beyond morocco in the future.

This was followed by a speech by Mr. Henri Sfeir, from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) who spoke about the role that the IFC plays in the supporting both the cable industry and other similar industries, and the opportunities that Cable Manufacturers have through the IFC

After that, Mr. Eric Le-Roux from Société General spoke about Banks and Insurers joining forces to create a modern digital platform to standardize the definition and collection of the compliance documentation. Which will help to create a network offering an array of enhanced due diligences services and analytics

Finally, Mr. Marc Bonter spoke about. The Evolution of Proprietary Trading in Base Metals and provided some interesting insights on how the trading industry works, and what it means for cable manufacturers.

The second day of the Conference ended with a visit to the Main Square and Market of Marrakech, and a dinner and show in the Dar Yacout Restaurant.

Day Three: 8/11/2018

The third day of the Conference, started with a speech By Daniel Smith, from Oxford Economics, who spoke about Macro and Market Drivers for Copper.

This was followed by a presentation from Mr. Philip Radbourne of Integer Research, who gave an overview of the world economy as well as the cable market in World, European and North African Markets.

Finally, Mr. Bahaa Shaban from Borouge spoke about, as well as the growth of the company in recent years, and the opportunities they offer to work and collaborate with the cable industry on many fronts.

The General Committee meeting was held and it was agreed on holding the Conference next year in the Kingdom of Jordan, in the meeting a lot of important matters were discussed related to the cable industry and how the Arab Cable Manufacturers can work together on these matters.

The final part of this year’s Confrence was a visit to the Bahia Palace, as well as the Majorelle gardens and Yves Saint Laurent Museum.

تقرير مؤتمر تجمع مصنعي الكابلات العرب الرابع عشر

اليوم الأول: 6/11/2018

اقيم مؤتمر عرب كاب الرابع عشر في المملكة المغربية, وبلتحديد في مدينة مراكش, وافتتح المؤتمر بحفل عشاء اقيم في مطعم لا موروكان في فندق المامونيا المستضيف للفعالية, استمتع فيه الأعضاء بلتعرف على بعضهم البعض و بعشاء مغربي تقليدي تحت انغام الموسيقى المحلية.

اليوم الثاني 7/11/2018

انطلقت أعمال المؤتمر في يوم الأربعاء المصادف 7 نوفمبر, حيث افتتحت جلسة المتحدثين بكلمة من السيد حامد راشد الزياني, رحب فيها بالأعضاء وقدم فيها جدول أعمال المؤتمر والمتحدثين.

تلى ذلك كلمة من سعادة الوزير عزيز رباح, وزير المناجم والطاقة والتنمية المستدامة في المملكة المغربية,, تحدث فيها عن فخره واعتزازه بصمود الدول العربية ونجاحها بلرغم من جميع التحديات الموجودة في المنطقة, وتحدث عن مشاريع المغرب الطموحة في مجال الطاقة والفرص التي تمثلها هذه المشاريع لمصنعين الكابلات.

تلت ذلك استراحة قصيرة, ومن ثم افتتحت جولة المتحدثين الثانية بكلمة من السيدة فاطمة زهرة من الوكالة المغربية للطاقة الشمسية, تحدثت فيها عن مشاريع الوكالة في المغرب وخططها المستقبلية للتوسع داخل وخارج المغرب, وكيف ممكن من مصنعين الكابلات ان يعملو مع الوكالة.

تلى ذلك كلمة من السيد هنري سفير, من المؤسسة العالمية للتمويل, تحدث فيها عن دور المؤسسة في دعم صناعة الكابلات والصناعات المشابهة, والفرص المتاحة لمصنعين الكابلات للأستفادة من خدمات المؤسسة.

من ثم تحدث السيد أيريك لارو من بنك سوسيته جينيرال عن جهود مجموعة من البنوك وشركات التأمين لعمل منصة الكترونية لتسهيل المعاملات الورقية التي يجب على الشركات ان تقوم بها.

تلى ذلك كلمة من السيد مارك بونتر عن تطور تجارة المعادن وكيف اصبحت تعمل في الفترة الأخيرة ومايعني ذلك لمصنعين الكابلات

واختتمت فعاليات اليوم الثاني من المؤتمر بزيارة إلى أسواق مراكش وساحة جامع الفناء, ومن ثم حفل عشار اقيم في مطعم دار الياقوت

اليوم الثالث : 8/112018/

ابتدأت جلسة المتحدثين بكلمة من السيد دانيل سميث, من اوكسفور للأقتصاد, تحدث فيها عن العوامل المحلية والعالمية التي تؤثر على اسعار النحاس

وبعد ذلك تحدث السيد فيليب رادبورن عن اخر تطورات الأقتصاد العالمي وصناعة الكابلات في امريكا, اوروبا وشمال افريقيا

وفي ختام جلسة المتحدثين تحدث السيد بهاء شعبان من شركة بوروج عن نمو الشركة في الفترة الأخيرة وجهودها للعمل مع ومساعدة مصنعين الكابلات في الوطن العربي

بعد ذلك تم افتتاح الجمعية العمومية للتجمع, وفيها ناقش الأعضاء العديد من التوصيات والأفكار وتم الاتفاق على إقامة مؤتمر 2019 في المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية, وفي ختام جدول المؤتمر قام الأعضاء بزيارة إلى قصر الباهية, ومن ثم حدائق الماجوريل ومتحف أيف سانت لوران
